Job summary

Duck Creek Technologies in Mississauga, Canada, is seeking a Business Development Representative II to build new pipeline with property and casualty insurers. This role reports to Sales Directors and collaborates with Marketing to drive qualified opportunities. The position is hybrid, with some in-person work at the Mississauga office and travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communication, or a similar field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct proactive outreach daily through calls, emails, and LinkedIn engagements.
  • Identify pain points and articulate how Duck Creek's solutions address them, qualifying fit to ICP.
  • Develop deep understanding of product applications to educate potential clients.
  • Lead exploratory conversations to determine fit and next steps with prospects.
  • Collaborate with Sales Directors and Marketing to devise strategies for sales territories.
  • Partner with Marketing and Operations to create precise target lists and follow-up tactics.
  • Operate across outbound, inbound, and events to generate qualified leads.
  • Utilize AI tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Record all activities in CRM/Sales Engagement tools.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, tools, and controls.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a Business Development Representative II, you will help Duck Creek create new pipeline with property and casualty insurers. You will research target accounts, conduct outbound prospecting, respond to qualified inbound interest, generate meetings at industry tradeshows, and lead introductory conversations that help determine fit and next steps. Working closely with Sales Directors and Marketing, you will turn market interest into qualified meetings and well-documented opportunities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conducting proactive outreach activities daily through calls, emails, and LinkedIn engagements.
  • Identifying pain points of prospects and adeptly articulating how Duck Creek's solutions can address them, while qualifying fit compared to Duck Creek's ICP.
  • Cultivating an in-depth understanding of product applications, enabling you to effectively qualify and educate potential clients about the value of Duck Creek's offerings.
  • Conducting exploratory conversations with prospective customers, illustrating how our products align with their distinct business objectives.
  • Collaborating with sales directors to devise tailored strategies for sales territories, geared toward achieving quarterly and annual objectives.
  • Partnering with the marketing and operations teams to develop precision-targeted lists, pre- and post-event follow-up tactics, and persuasive messaging to propel the generation of qualified sales leads.
  • Operate across all lead generation channels – including outbound, inbound and events.
  • Consistently leverage AI tools to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Diligently tracking and documenting all activities within CRM and Sales Engagement tools.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, tools, and controls while balancing speed, quality, cost, and risk.
  • Help drive analysis, problem solving, and decision support using relevant data and subject matter expertise.
  • Share knowledge with peers and contribute to team standards, documentation, and continuous learning.
WHAT YOU’VE DONE

Business Development Representative experience is preferred. Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communication, or a similar field preferred. Interest in sales development, sales or marketing. Demonstrating intellectual curiosity, a competitive spirit, and an unwavering commitment to meeting and surpassing goals. Exhibiting exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Showcasing impeccable time management and organizational capabilities, with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Thriving under pressure within a fast-paced environment. Any experience or internship with software, or technology-enabled services is a plus.

Travel: 0-10%: Schedule will be hybrid (remote and in-person) and will require some in-person work from our Mississauga Office.

The expected salary range for this position is between $45,000 and $65,000 CAD, which reflects a good-faith estimate of the compensation range Duck Creek Technologies would expect to pay for this role at the time of posting.

Actual compensation is determined based on a variety of factors, including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal equity, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable provincial laws.

This position may also be eligible for annual bonus compensation, subject to plan terms and individual eligibility.
