Position : Business Development Manager – Industrial Equipment Manufacturing

Location : Montreal (Hybrid)

Salary : $100K + package including base salary + bonus incentive plan

Job Type : Full-time

Travel : About 20% European Travel

We’re seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth in Europe for industrial equipment manufacturers. This is a senior-level role focused on business development working with existing agents and developing new markets within the region.

The role requires strong strategic sales skills and the ability to engage with clients at a technical level regarding machinery and sophisticated equipment. You’ll travel to key regions throughout Europe and help rebuild and expand our market presence. The travel expectation is two-week trips scheduled quarterly (total of approximately 8 weeks annually).

What You’ll Do :

  • Lead sales activities across Europe—from lead generation to deal closing—for custom-engineered equipment in the pulp & paper sector.
  • Manage relationships with 6–7 existing agents across Spain, Italy, Germany, France, the UK, Sweden / Finland, and Greece.
  • Identify opportunities in various regions and help establish agent networks or direct sales channels.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams and technical experts to deliver tailored solutions.
  • Participate in planning, forecasting, and setting pricing strategies in collaboration with leadership.
  • Support agents in prioritizing target accounts and organizing visits.
  • Represent the company in technical discussions and product presentations.
  • Track and analyze sales data, market trends, and customer feedback to inform strategic decisions.
  • Ensure timely follow-up with clients and maintain CRM documentation of all activities.

What You Bring :

  • At least five years of experience in business development within industrial machinery or similar products.
  • Engineering degree or Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline is considered an asset.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage long sales cycles.
  • Availability for international travel (4–6x / year), each trip lasting up to 2 weeks.
  • Must be based in the Montreal area for in-office collaboration.
