Job summary

Camozzi Automation is seeking a Business Development Manager for Canada to expand distributor partnerships, develop OEM relations, and drive market growth across Ontario, Quebec, and nationwide. You will report to the US/Canada GM and shape growth strategies with distributors, OEMs, machine builders, and systems integrators.

The role requires strategic thinking, consultative selling, and the ability to influence engineering, operations, purchasing, and executive decision-makers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Industrial Distribution, or a related technical discipline preferred.
  • MBA or other advanced business education is considered an asset.
  • 3–5+ years of progressive experience in industrial business development, channel sales, OEM sales, or technical sales within automation, fluid power, motion control, or related manufacturing industries.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities through strategic prospecting, networking, and customer engagement.
  • Achieve assigned sales, revenue, profitability, and market share objectives.
  • Expand sales within existing distributor partners through joint business planning and account development.
  • Develop and secure new OEM, machine builder, and systems integrator accounts that generate measurable revenue growth.
  • Increase product specification into OEM equipment and industrial applications.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with strategic distributors and key accounts.
  • Deliver product training and technical sales support in both English and French.
  • Maintain an accurate sales pipeline, forecasting process, and customer activity within the company's CRM platform.
  • Expand market share throughout Ontario and Quebec through strategic customer acquisition and territory development.
  • Build trusted relationships with engineering, operations, purchasing, and executive stakeholders.

As Business Development Manager – Canada, you'll expand strategic distributor partnerships, develop OEM relationships, and drive market growth across Ontario, Quebec, and emerging opportunities nationwide.

Reporting to the General Manager – US/Canada, this role develops and executes growth strategies by expanding relationships with industrial distributors while identifying and securing new business opportunities with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), machine builders, systems integrators, and key industrial end users. The successful candidate will influence product specification, build long-term customer partnerships, and collaborate with channel partners to increase market share across industrial automation, fluid power, motion control, and related manufacturing markets.

Serving as the primary commercial representative, you'll collaborate with engineering, product management, marketing, operations, and customer service teams to deliver technical solutions that help customers improve productivity and performance.

The ideal candidate is a driven business development professional with experience selling technical products through both industrial distribution and direct OEM channels. Success in this role requires strategic thinking, consultative selling, relationship management, and the ability to influence engineering, operations, purchasing, and executive decision-makers.

What you’ll do

In this role, you will:

What we’re looking for

  • Demonstrated success developing industrial distribution networks and channel partnerships.
  • Proven experience selling directly to OEMs, machine builders, systems integrators, or manufacturing customers.
  • Experience supporting distributor sales organizations through joint selling initiatives.
  • Strong consultative selling and application-based technical sales experience.
  • Technical aptitude with the ability to understand industrial automation systems and customer applications; CAD familiarity is considered an asset.
