Business Development Manager – Western Canada
The Opportunity

Reporting to the Director of Strategic Partnerships, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing and activating strategic partnerships across Western Canada to drive SME membership growth within the Cubeler® Business Hub.

This role will focus on building and expanding relationships with business and professional associations, Chambers of Commerce, Boards of Trade, Business Councils, accounting software providers, bookkeepers, and other organizations with established SME communities.

The Business Development Manager will manage the full partnership lifecycle — from identifying and engaging prospective partners to activating their member communities and driving measurable SME registrations. Working closely with Marketing and other internal teams, this individual will develop and execute initiatives that increase awareness, acquisition, engagement, and retention within the Cubeler® Business Hub.

What You'll Do
  • Develop and manage strategic relationships with business and professional associations, Chambers of Commerce, Boards of Trade, Business Councils, accounting software providers, bookkeepers, and other organizations serving the SME community.
  • Identify, pursue, negotiate, and establish new partnerships that provide access to established networks of business owners and SMEs across Western Canada.
  • Activate existing and new partnerships by developing initiatives that effectively introduce the Cubeler® Business Hub to their member and client communities and drive SME registrations.
  • Deliver engaging presentations and demonstrations of the Cubeler® Business Hub to business and professional associations, partners, and SME communities, clearly communicating the platform's value proposition and driving member registration and engagement.
  • Manage the full partnership lifecycle, including prospect identification, outreach, relationship development, onboarding, activation, ongoing engagement, and performance.
  • Build strong relationships with accounting software providers and work directly with their respective client communities to generate SME membership growth within the Cubeler® Business Hub.
  • Work closely with Marketing to develop targeted campaigns, events, communications, and other initiatives designed to drive member acquisition, engagement, and retention.
  • Maintain regular communication with partners and their SME communities, identifying opportunities to strengthen engagement and improve partnership performance.
  • Own SME acquisition targets within the assigned territory, monitor registration and partner performance, and continuously adjust business development strategies to achieve growth objectives.
What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, channel sales, B2B sales, or a related commercial role.
  • Demonstrated success developing and managing partnerships that generate measurable customer, member, or revenue growth.
  • Strong experience working with or selling to small and medium-sized businesses.
  • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales, acquisition, or growth targets.
  • Established network within the Western Canadian business community is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with Chambers of Commerce, Boards of Trade, professional associations, business associations, or similar organizations is considered a strong asset.
  • Experience or existing relationships within accounting, fintech, financial services, or the accounting software ecosystem is considered an asset.
  • Strong relationship-building, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the confidence and ability to present effectively to groups of business owners, partners, and senior stakeholders.
  • Results-oriented and commercially minded, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Highly autonomous and self-driven, with the ability to manage a geographically dispersed territory and multiple partnerships simultaneously.
  • Creative and resourceful approach to identifying opportunities, solving problems, and developing new channels for growth.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • University degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
What We Offer
  • Competitive compensation, including a performance-based commission structure.
  • Health benefits.
  • Group RRSP.
  • Paid sick days and personal days.
  • Reimbursement of eligible business travel expenses.
  • Remote work environment.
