Premier Group is proud to partner with a global leader in advanced systems support, technical services, and training solutions. Our client works at the cutting edge of technology, helping organizations optimize complex assets across defense, space, aerospace, rail, and shipping sectors.

After a period of exceptional growth, driven by innovation and smart acquisitions, they’re now looking for a high-performing Business Development Manager to lead expansion efforts in Canada. Whilst this role is remote, proximity to the Department of National Defence (DND) is required so suitable candidates based within Ottawa and the surrounding area are invited to apply.

About the Role:

Responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the Sales Cycle: Own the full business acquisition process, from identifying prospects to closing deals, using solution selling and consultative techniques.
  • Grow Key Accounts: Manage and expand relationships with strategic customers across major programs, upgrades, renewals, and ongoing support needs.
  • Drive Visibility: Work with the marketing team to represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, and conferences.
  • Shape Strategy: Collaborate with leadership to build market expansion strategies and drive business growth across North America.
  • Stay Market-Smart: Monitor market intelligence, trends, and tender opportunities to ensure the company is well-positioned to compete and win.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Partner with internal teams to respond to RFPs, support renewals, and meet evolving customer needs.
  • Champion Engineering Excellence: Help develop a global engineering consultancy offering and elevate the company’s presence in the support engineering space.

About You:

  • Proven track record of success in SaaS sales, with several years of experience in a Business Development or Account Management role.
  • Candidates must have an active Secret Clearance or be eligible to obtain one
  • Experience building trusted partnerships using a solution-based sales approach.
  • Ability to manage complex sales processes and see projects through to completion.
  • Confident communicator with strong presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and driven by results.
  • Experience with CRM tools and sales pipeline management.
  • Consultancy Skills: Strong interpersonal and customer-facing consultancy skills.
  • Existing network in defense consultancy or related industries.
  • Trained in producing winning proposals (e.g., Shipley, Miller Heiman).
  • Familiarity with support engineering and project collaboration.
  • Understanding of product life cycles in complex environments.
