Job summary

Maarut is seeking a Senior Business Architect to work across the entire individual insurance processes, not just a single flow. You will structure functional design and produce comprehensive business architecture deliverables while supporting both business and IT teams in modernizing existing systems.

Hands-on knowledge of individual insurance is essential, with a dual focus on functional design and application transformation.

The client is looking for a senior business architect who can work across the entire individual insurance processes, not just one business flow. The candidate should be able to structure functional design and produce the expected business architecture deliverables, while supporting both business and IT teams in modernizing existing systems. This isn’t a general enterprise architecture profile; hands-on knowledge of individual insurance is pretty important. The dual focus expected, on functional design and application transformation, comes up in both sources and forms the core of the role.

• 8+ years of experience as a Senior Business Architect in IT
  
• Experience in individual insurance (life, health, and/or disability), minimum 1 to 2 years
  
• Experience in functional design and business architecture documentation
  
• Experience in application transformation or modernization initiatives
  

PREFERRED

• Experience across all three product lines: life, health, and disability insurance
  
• Experience with a Quebec-based insurer (e.g., IA, Beneva, SSQ, La Capitale, or equivalent)
  

ASSET

• Bilingualism (French and English)
  
• Knowledge of modeling tools (ArchiMate, BPMN, or equivalent)
  

WHAT WE DON'T WANT

• General enterprise architecture profile without exposure to individual insurance processes.
  
• Actuarial or data analysis profile.
  
• General business analyst without concrete experience in individual insurance.
  
• Candidate with less than 8 years of business architecture experience.
  
• Experience limited to a single product with no exposure to other lines, life, health, or disability.
