Job summary

Western Financial Group is actively seeking a Business Application Administrator to manage and optimize our core insurance applications from a remote location across Canada. You will ensure reliability, security, and alignment with IT standards while collaborating with Technology Services, stakeholders, and vendors.

The role requires strong experience with BMS-related apps (EPIC, RatingServices, Policyworks), plus a background in change and release management and enterprise administration.

Qualifications

  • CS degree/diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with BMS applications or similar enterprise apps.
  • Experience administering insurance-related enterprise applications.

BUSINESS APPLICATION ADMINISTRATOR - REMOTE, Canada

Reporting to the Business Applications Team Lead, the Application Administrator is responsible for the administration, support, and continuous improvement of assigned business applications. This role provides technical ownership and guidance, ensuring applications remain reliable, secure, and aligned with operational standards while maintaining a strong understanding of their impact on the overall IT infrastructure. The Application Administrator partners with Technology Services, business stakeholders, vendors, and project teams to support application availability, performance, and governance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer assigned business applications across production and non-production environments, including configuration, user access, integrations, scheduled processes, and operational support.
  • Maintain application availability and performance through monitoring, incident management, root cause analysis, change and release support, and vendor coordination.
  • Develop and maintain application documentation, automate and improve support processes, facilitate knowledge transfer, and promote governance-aligned, repeatable support practices.
The value you bring
  • Computer Science degree or diploma, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience supporting, configuring, or developing Broker Management System (BMS) applications
  • Strong experience in business application administration for insurance-related systems provided to our Insurance Brokers, including but not limited to applications such as EPIC, RatingServices, and Policyworks
  • Practical experience administering enterprise applications, supporting production systems, managing access, coordinating changes, resolving incidents, and working with vendors and business stakeholders.
  • Prior experience in Change Management or Release Management is required
  • Strong experience in a service-oriented, detail-focused, and security conscious environment
