Global Functions Technology (GFT) is part of RBC’s Technology and Operations division. The opportunity available is working as an AD, Business Analyst within the RISE team on a multi-year Insurance transformation program, to enhance IFRS17 accounting results and improve the financial close process.
RISE is the strategic SubLedger and Calculation Engine for RBC’s Insurance Business built on the Aptitude vendor products: Accounting Hub and Insurance Calculation Engine. RISE sources data from the Enterprise Data Lake (Finance & Insurance) and other golden source reference data applications and performs calculations to align with IFRS17 standards, providing accounting and subledger functions, including allocations, to support our business users with their monthly financial reporting, business review, and performance analysis.
The business analyst SME will be focused on the complexities of IFRS17 calculations and methodologies within the calculation engine along with accounting rules and subledger functions and will contribute to enhancements and evolution of design. The selected candidate will work closely with clients in the Actuarial, Insurance Finance and Insurance IT teams, leading requirements sessions and design conversations, documenting the business rules/mappings and defining solutions that enhance RISE while minimizing impact and risk on existing application functionality. This position involves interaction at all levels within the organization, from technical personnel to high level management, meaning exceptional communication skills are a must for this role. Given the specialist nature of the applications, the stakeholders and subject matter expertise required, this role also requires a candidate who is comfortable working in high pressure environments.
