Job summary

Pratt & Whitney Canada, based in Longueuil, is seeking a Product Owner to translate the product vision into actionable requirements and deliver value quickly within an on-site team. You will align stakeholders and development teams, translate needs into user stories, and maintain a prioritized backlog to guide delivery.

You will drive agile ceremonies, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure high-quality outcomes while navigating a bilingual, global environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role in product management.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining high-quality deliverables.
• Experience with product management tools (e.g. ADO).
• Experience working in a cross-functional environment; bilingual French/English; English proficiency for documentation.

Responsibilities

• Write detailed user stories and prioritize the backlog with the development team.
• Participate in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog grooming, and sprint reviews.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and testers to ensure shared understanding of requirements and priorities.

What will your day-to-day look like?

Product Vision & Strategy:

• Act as the main point of contact between stakeholders (business, customers, and development teams);
• Gather input, feedback, and requirements from business owners, customers, and other stakeholders to ensure the product meets their needs;
• Organize regular feedback sessions and reviews with stakeholders to ensure alignment;
• Develop and maintain a roadmap outlining product features, enhancements, and deliverables.

Documenting requirements and Backlog Management:

• Create business and functional details requirements;
• Create, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring it is clear and actionable for the development team;
• Write detailed user stories, defining acceptance criteria, and ensuring clarity of requirements;
• Continuously prioritize tasks based on business value, market demand, and technical feasibility;
• Work closely with development teams, including software engineers, designers, and testers, to ensure a shared understanding of requirements and priorities;
• Participate in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog grooming, and sprint reviews.

Quality Assurance and Testing:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to define acceptance criteria;
• Ensure that delivered features meet quality standards and user expectations;
• Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate that delivered solutions meet business requirements and address user needs.

Continuous Improvement:

• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and user feedback to identify areas for improvement and optimization;
• Proactively identify opportunities to enhance processes, tools, and methodologies to drive efficiency and effectiveness;
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning within the product team and the broader organization.

What do you need to be successful?

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field;
• Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role in product management;
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban);
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels;

• This position is part of a French-speaking work environment, it requires a very good knowledge of English to read and understand, on a daily basis, documentation and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.
