Job summary

Equisoft Inc. (Canada) is seeking a Business Analyst to work with clients and development teams, documenting clear business requirements and providing context for insurance distribution solutions.

The BA will produce formal requirements and guide feature capabilities. You will participate in workshops, translate requirements into actionable specifications, and collaborate with product management to support core software capabilities while assisting in sprint planning and occasional pre-sales

Qualifications

• 5+ years in life insurance or similar role.
• Proficient in BA techniques: user story creation, process modeling, elicitation.
• Knowledge of Life and Health insurance products is an asset.
• SQL knowledge in a Microservice architecture environment is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Document functional specifications and business requirements.
• Collaborate with UI/UX to design interfaces and wireframes.
• Translate user stories into business, functional, and non-functional requirements with acceptance criteria.
• Assist development during sprints: answer questions, review test cases.
• Support pre-sales activities for the product as needed.

Role:

The Business Analyst will work closely with clients and the development team to provide clear business requirements and context setting based on their extensive insurance distribution industry knowledge. The Business Analyst will be responsible for producing formal requirements and providing feature and capability guidance.

Your Day with Equisoft:

• Participate in client, internal and industry workshops as required
• Work closely with the technical team, product management and clients to document functional specifications that will benefit the core solution.
• Conceptualize business needs and processes into functional building blocks that fit in the capabilities of our existing software.
• Translate user stories from various unstructured requirements into business, functional and non-functional requirements (with acceptance criteria)
• Collaborate with UI experts to design user interfaces and create low fidelity wireframes and detailed screen specifications tasks.
• Assist the development team during the sprint (answer questions, review test cases, etc.)
• Participate in pre-planning sessions with the Development Team Lead and Product Owner to define next sprint priorities.
• Provide pre-sales support on the product from time to time.

Requirements:

• Technical Bachelor's Degree or College Diploma
• 5+ years working for a life insurance company or in a similar role
• Strong documentation skills, with the ability to create clear and concise requirement artifacts
• Proficient in business analysis techniques, including user story creation, process modeling and requirements elicitation
• Knowledge of Life and Health insurance products and processes is an asset
• SQL knowledge & experience in a Microservice architecture environment is an asset
• Fluency in both written and spoken French and English (oral and written)
