Job description

RLG is an implementation firm that partners with clients to accelerate their improvement journey. We drive transformative change through on-site coaching that shifts the processes and behaviours – connecting the front line to the bottom line.

We are seeking a sharp, early-career Business Analyst to join our finance team, which sits at the intersection of finance, strategy, and business development. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will be the analytical engine behind our commercial operations, owning the day-to-day management of financial and pricing models, producing executive-quality presentation materials, and working directly with senior partners to keep our sales pipeline accurate and up to date.

This is a full-time, in-person role based at our Vancouver, BC office. It is a rare early-career seat: you'll see how a global consultancy prices, pitches, and wins multi-million-dollar engagements, with real responsibility from day one. This role is ideal for someone who wants broad exposure to corporate finance, strategy, and business development before specializing, and who thrives on structure, accuracy, and polish.

As a Business Analyst, you will:
  • Maintain, update, and quality-check pricing models, cost models, and financial forecasts in Excel; support scenario analysis for active client pursuits.
  • Build and refine executive-level PowerPoint decks (proposals, pitch materials, board updates) to brand standard, working from partner input and existing templates.
  • Partner directly with senior consultants and Managing Partners to keep Microsoft Dynamics CRM entries complete, current, and accurate; run regular pipeline hygiene reviews and follow up on gaps.
  • Assist the CFO with monthly forecast cycles, variance analysis, and reporting packs.
  • Support business intelligence reporting in Power BI, working with our data science and IT teams on data refreshes, dashboard updates, and ad hoc analysis; you own the business logic and requirements, they own the infrastructure.
  • Take on research, data pulls, and one-off analytical requests from the CFO and senior leadership.
You will thrive in this role if you bring:
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort building and auditing multi-tab models, using lookups, and structuring clean, logical workbooks.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint with a genuine eye for clarity, consistency, and visual polish.
  • A highly organized, detail-oriented mindset with a knack for catching the errors others miss.
  • Confidence communicating with and following up on senior stakeholders, holding them (politely) accountable.
  • Comfort working cross-functionally, translating business needs into clear requirements for data science and IT colleagues.
  • A self-starter mentality that can manage multiple recurring tasks and deadlines without close supervision.
To qualify for this role, you must have:
  • A bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of professional experience (new graduates are encouraged to apply; internships and co-op terms count).
  • Strong Excel skills, including comfort with lookups and structuring clean, multi-tab workbooks.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint for executive-level presentation development.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM or another CRM platform is an asset.
  • Exposure to SQL, Power BI, Power Query, or DAX is an asset.
  • Exposure to AI tools such as Copilot, Claude or ChatGPT are an asset.
  • Interest in energy, mining, capital projects, or management consulting is an asset.
  • Co-op, internship, or work experience in FP&A, consulting, banking, or a corporate finance function is an asset.
What success looks like

A successful Business Analyst at RLG becomes the reliable analytical backbone behind our commercial operations - keeping pricing models accurate, presentations polished, and the pipeline clean, while earning the trust of senior partners and the CFO along the way. Over time, this role is designed as a launchpad into strategy, FP&A, or client-facing consulting work. Along the way, you'll get direct mentorship from the CFO and senior leadership with no layers between you and the decision-makers, and exposure to live, high-stakes commercial pursuits with global energy and industrial clients.

What we offer
  • Three weeks of vacation annually so you can recharge and maintain a healthy work-life balance.
  • Six paid sick days each year to support your health and give you the time you need to recover.
  • A competitive RRSP matching program to support your long-term financial well-being.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits.
  • Competitive salary aligned to experience.
