Job Summary:
- The Business Analyst (BA) plays a critical role in bridging the gap between business stakeholders and technology teams.
- This position is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and documenting business needs and ensuring that proposed solutions deliver maximum value.
- The BA works collaboratively with internal users, project managers, solution architects, developers, and external vendors to deliver high-quality solutions aligned with the clients strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:Business Analysis & Requirements Management- Elicit, document, and manage functional and non-functional business requirements.
- Analyze and refine business processes and propose enhancements.
- Facilitate stakeholder sessions to define and validate business needs.
- The Business Analyst coordinates agreement on requirements for applications shared across teams.
- Maintain traceability of requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
Solution Design & Assessment:- Develop detailed application, interface, and data conversion requirements.
- Review and provide feedback on design documents and technical specifications.
- Evaluate potential solutions for alignment with business goals and constraints.
- Identify risks, impacts, and mitigation strategies related to proposed changes.
Testing & Quality Assurance:- Develop and maintain test strategies, plans, and schedules for functional, integration, and user acceptance testing.
- Create and execute manual test scripts and scenarios.
- Lead test team activities, including defect tracking, resolution meetings, and status reporting.
- Ensure test coverage aligns with business requirements.
- Manage test data requirements and test environment preparation.
Project & Change Support:- Support application procurement and implementation initiatives.
- Establish and monitor warranty support expectations and issue remediation.
- Coordinate user acceptance testing and transition to operational support teams.
- Contribute to organizational change management and user training activities.
- Provide detailed documentation, reports, and knowledge transfer to support teams.
Required Qualifications:- University degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Business Analyst Certification (e.g., CBAP, CCBA, or equivalent).
- Experience in business process mapping, enterprise analysis, and solution validation.
- Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
- Proven skills in test planning, execution, and defect management.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and facilitation skills.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively on multiple projects.
Preferred Certifications:- PROSCI Change Management Certification
- CBAP Certification (or equivalent)
Preferred Experience and Tools:- Experience with procurement documentation and vendor solution assessments.
- Familiarity with Intelex, Genetec, ASPEN (OneLiner, Relay Database, Power Flow), Itron MVWeb, and other specialized tools.
