The Innovation, Privacy and Stewardship (IPS) Division is accountable for the Alberta Technology and Innovation Strategy; the protection of personal information and guidance around the ethical use of data; and the governance of Alberta Innovates and the Alberta Enterprise Corporation. Within the IPS division, the Enterprise Strategic Operations (ESO) Branch is accountable for enterprise IT reporting, project management, and IMT communications, training, and outreach. This includes enterprise services to promote the Ministry’s services and resources across the Government of Alberta (GoA), supporting the adoption of technology and innovation to deliver better, faster, and smarter services.
The Business Analysis team within the Project Services Unit supports Government of Alberta technology and service delivery initiatives by helping business areas define needs, document requirements, analyze processes, and evaluate solution options. The team works collaboratively with project teams, technical partners, and ministry stakeholders to improve clarity, reduce delivery risk, and support practical, user-focused outcomes.
The ESO branch is looking for a Business Analyst (BA). Reporting to the Manager, Business Analysis, this position is responsible for discovering, synthesizing, and analyzing information from a variety of sources, including tools, processes, documentation, and stakeholders.
The Business Analyst supports business analysis activities by planning, coordinating, documenting, and analyzing business needs, requirements, processes, and solution options. Working with project teams, stakeholders, and senior business analysis resources, this role helps ensure business needs are clearly understood, documented, and translated into practical requirements and project deliverables.
