Intertek (BML) in Kamloops, BC, is hiring a Bulk Prep Technician for the afternoon shift. The role involves receiving, preparing, and shipping samples for laboratory testing, with duties spanning packing, labeling, and inventory control.

The candidate will handle shipping logs, ensure safety, operate equipment, and assist with general lab maintenance. Training transitions from morning to afternoon shift as needed.

Bulk Prep Technician (Afternoon Shift) - Kamloops, BC (Healthcare)

Intertek (BML) is a commercial laboratory which specializes in recovery of base and precious metals from raw mineralization. We are looking for dedicated technicians to join our team.

General Description of Responsibilities

To receive, prepare, and ship samples to conduct laboratory testing as requested by the client.

Specific Responsibilities

• Prepare and complete work orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule (load, pack, wrap, label, ship)
• Receive and process warehouse stock products (pick, unload, label, store)
• Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization
• Complete shipping logs and system inventory
• Report any discrepancies
• Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers
• Operate and maintain preventively warehouse vehicles and equipment
• Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations
• Crushing and screening drill core and bulk rock samples;
• Splitting material into charges for testing;
• Weighing, screening, and / or pulverizing test products;
• Preparing products for assay;
• General maintenance of equipment
• Keeping the lab in a generally clean condition.

Job Requirements

• Ability to lift 25kg.

Schedule and training requirements

• Shift from 3PM to 11.30PM ( Monday to Friday)
• Paid overtime
• Initial training will be conducted on the morning shift for approximately 2 weeks after which the employee shall transition to the afternoon shift.
• Additional training maybe required periodically based on operational and/or business needs or new process requirements. Employee will be required to transition temporarily to morning shift for the training and then return to regular afternoon shift.
• When possible, advance notice will be provided for training periods.

Salary & Benefits Information

The base wage or salary range for this position starts at $20.00 hourly. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. In addition to competitive compensation packages, Intertek (BML) employees are eligible for a variety of benefitsincluding vacation, paid sick days, medical benefits and more. This is a afternoon shift starting at 3.00PM till 11.30PM.
