Job summary

Contrans Vrac is seeking a Bulk AZ Local Position in Goderich, ON, to perform loading, unloading, tarp, and trailer maintenance duties. This full-time role requires AZ license and ability to lift 20–25 kg and climb trailers several times daily.

You will work with dispatch and safety to ensure on-time deliveries, accurate logs, and safe operation of equipment. The position is paid hourly and located locally in Ontario.

Qualifications

• AZ license required and valid for Ontario.
• Ability to lift 20–25 kg and climb in/out of trailers.
• Good CVOR and driver's abstract preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip inspections and secure loads.
• Load/unload bulk/dump products and tarp trailers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Pre-trip inspections(Involve walking, bending, lifting and releasing the kingpin from the fifth wheel, approximately 50 pounds pulling force and winding dolly legs up or down, approximately 10 pounds force on the crank)
• Loading and off loading Bulk / Dump products
• Tarping (Opening and closing the trailer tarp on dump trailers, approximately15 pounds force twisting the tarp crank to open and up to 60 pounds pulling to close)
• Cleaning Trailers out (Sweeping the trailer after unloading – climbing,bending and walking.)
• Cleaning Trailers with Frozen product in side
• Removal of cross bows along the top of trailer (Requires hammer to removeall 10 cross bows)
• Climbing in and out of the tractor (approximately but not limiting to 2-4times daily)
• Driving (Driving can vary between 1 to 4 hours sitting and shifting thetransmission)
• Walking on uneven ground at different facilities while loading and off loading
• Dealing with Malfunctioning equipment (Trailer doors could get stuck,Trailer bows not easily coming out, issues with trapping system that may need extra force)
• Knowledge of axle weights
• Safe operation of equipment

• All paperwork (logbook, customs, trip envelopes)
• Writing up equipment with defects
• Fueling on a daily basis
• Keeping Truck clean inside
• Use of electronic Logging device

Employment Requirements:

• Must be physically fit to climb 12’ in & out of dump trailers, approximately but not limiting to 2-4 times daily
• Must be able to lift 20 to 25 kg’s of material in & out of trailers, approximately but not limiting to 2-4 times daily
• Or 2 years over the road experience Licenses / Certificates: AZ license
