Job summary

Egis Group in Kingston, Ontario, is seeking a mid-level Structural Engineer - Building Engineering to join our hybrid team with a minimum 60% on-site presence. You will lead structural analysis and design for commercial, residential and institutional buildings, coordinating with architects and multi-disciplinary teams to deliver documents from concept through construction.

The ideal candidate has 5–8 years of building design experience and a P.Eng.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering is required.
• P.Eng. designation in Ontario in good standing is required.
• 5+ years of structural design experience for buildings.
• Experience on commercial, residential or institutional projects.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian building codes and structural standards.
• Experience in multidisciplinary project delivery environments.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with ETABS, SAFE, SAP, S-Frame, or WoodWorks.
• Basic BIM with Revit; knowledge of BIM workflows.
• Valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering service proposals and support project scoping.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors and authorities for approvals.
• Perform structural analysis and prepare design calculations and drawings.
• Lead structural design activities and assist project scheduling and budgeting.
• Conduct design reviews and ensure compliance with design standards.
• Develop construction drawings, tender docs, permits and related docs.
• Provide technical advisory services throughout project execution and closeout.
• Perform site inspections and construction review activities.
• Prepare project reports, memos and design documentation.
• Support project delivery and coordination as assigned.
