Job summary

Egis Canada in Toronto, ON, is seeking a mid-level Structural Engineer - Building Engineering to design and analyze building systems across commercial, residential and institutional projects. The role requires collaboration with architects and multidisciplinary teams, and adherence to Canadian codes.

The ideal candidate has 5–8 years of structural design experience, P.Eng. license, and strong proficiency with design software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering required.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Alberta and PEO registration.
• Minimum 5 years of structural design experience for building projects.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian building codes and standards.
• Experience leading or contributing to multidisciplinary project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering service proposals and assist scoping and cost estimation.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors and regulatory bodies for approvals.
• Perform structural analysis and deliver design calculations and drawings.
• Lead design efforts, schedule, budget and resource allocation.
• Provide technical review and validation for junior engineers and deliverables.
• Develop construction drawings, tender docs and permit submissions.
• Maintain technical advisory support throughout project lifecycles.
• Conduct site inspections and construction reviews for compliance.
• Prepare detailed engineering reports and specifications.
• Take on additional duties aligned with project delivery needs.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering

Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Alberta and registered with PEO
