Job summary

Egis Canada is seeking a mid-level Structural Engineer to join our Kingston, Ontario team. The role focuses on the structural analysis and design of building systems across commercial, residential, and institutional projects, with hybrid work and significant on-site presence.

You will contribute from conceptual design through construction, producing drawings, coordinating with architects and multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with Canadian codes and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering.
• P.Eng. designation in Ontario, in good standing.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in structural design for building projects.
• Experience delivering commercial, residential, or institutional building projects.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian building codes and structural design standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Working knowledge of structural design software including ETABS, SAFE, SAP, S-Frame, or WoodWorks.
• Basic proficiency with Revit and Building Information Modeling (BIM) workflows.
• Demonstrated experience preparing technical reports and design reviews.
• Valid driver's license with access to a registered and insured vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Prepare proposals and assist with project scoping and cost estimation.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
• Perform structural analysis and prepare design calculations and drawings.
• Lead structural design activities and support scheduling and budgeting.
• Conduct technical reviews and validate engineering deliverables.
• Develop construction drawings, permit documentation, and related design docs.
• Provide technical advisory services throughout project execution.
• Conduct site inspections and construction reviews to verify compliance.
• Prepare engineering reports, specifications, and memoranda.
• Support project delivery and coordination as assigned.
