The Corporation of the City of North Vancouver is seeking an Auxiliary Building Service Worker to perform janitorial duties across City facilities. You will sweep, wash, wax and polish floors, vacuum carpets, clean washrooms, set up tables and chairs for events, and assist with light maintenance as needed.

Applicants should have related experience in janitorial work and knowledge of tools and equipment used; independence and the ability to follow written and oral instructions are essential.

• Related experience and knowledge of methods, materials, tools and equipment used in janitorial work.
• Some knowledge of routine building maintenance and minor repair tasks.
• Able to work independently and understand and follow oral/written instructions.
• Completion of Building Service Worker courses resulting in a diploma is an asset.

The Corporate Services Department – Facilities Division requires auxiliary Building Service Workers.

You will sweep, wash, wax, and polish floors, hallways and related areas; vacuum carpets; wash hand basins, sinks, toilets, and tile; replenish washroom supplies; pick up, collect and dispose of refuse; set up tables and chairs; assist in event setup and removal, move furniture, perform special cleaning tasks, perform minor building maintenance and repair tasks as well as other related duties that may be assigned.

You will have related experience and knowledge of the methods, materials, tools and equipment used in janitorial work, plus some knowledge of routine building maintenance and minor repair tasks. You must be able to work independently, and understand and follow oral/written instructions. Completion of Building Service Worker courses resulting in a diploma is a definite asset.

You will be required to obtain and maintain an RCMP security clearance as a condition of ongoing employment.

Salary: $29.25 to $34.25 per hour (Pay Grade 13 – 2026 rates)

Hours of Work: Auxiliary. Hours of work may vary based on operational needs.
