Job summary

Canucks Sports & Entertainment is seeking a Building Operator for Rogers Arena in Vancouver. You’ll participate in preventive maintenance for HVAC, refrigeration, and related equipment, and help install and operate the ice sheet.

Qualifications

• Ice Facility Operator Certificate required.
• Fourth Class Power Engineers Certificate or Refrigeration Operator Certificate preferred.
• Knowledge of automated building control systems, computer systems or equipment-related experience.
• Experience in making and maintaining ice surfaces, including experience driving a Zamboni or Olympia.
• Experience in troubleshooting HVAC, Mechanical & Plumbing issues.
• Experience in performing minor repairs to HVAC, Mechanical and Plumbing systems with appropriate tools.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by Rogers Arena event schedule.
• Solid team player with a strong customer service focus.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to deal effectively with all levels of staff, guests, promoters, clients, corporate partners, and supplier contractors.
• Ability to take initiative and work well under minimal supervision.
• Superior organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Onsite role at Rogers Arena.

Responsibilities

• Assist with inventory controls for all maintenance parts and supplies related to the physical plant and building operation.
• Provide event-related support for all building systems.
