Job summary

Oak View Group (OVG) seeks a Facility Operator at The Temple Gardens Centre in Moose Jaw. This role handles ice installation/prep, event setup/teardown, housekeeping, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs, all with strong customer service in a fast-paced arena setting.

Role requires lifting, ladder work, flexible hours, and teamwork. Health, dental/vision, pension matching, and vacation/sick/holiday time are provided as full-time benefits.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience cleaning a business facility preferred.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and climb ladders/work from heights as required.
• Flexible schedule, including early mornings, days, evenings, overnight, weekends, and holidays.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team as well as under minimal supervision.
• Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, with the ability to handle multiple assignments.
• Proven record of excellent internal and external customer service.
• Previous experience using pallet jacks, forklifts, ice resurfacers, and/or edgers is a plus.
• Strong communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment including staging, audiovisual, lighting, small equipment tools, pallet jacks, forklifts, ice resurfacers, edgers, etc.
• Assist with event preparations including stage setup and teardown, setting of tables and chairs, AV equipment, and meeting room spaces as required.
• Set up and tear down and preparation of Main Tenant games and/or events.
• Respond immediately to emergency situations and customer concerns as required.
• Provide exceptional customer service to clients and fans.
• Perform maintenance including painting, drywall repairs, grounds maintenance, snow/ice removal, and sanitation duties.
• Cleaning to meet sanitation requirements in bathrooms, seating areas, common areas, dressing rooms, hockey benches, meeting rooms.

Position Summary

The Facility Operator will perform a variety of tasks related to ice installation and preparations, event setup and teardown, housekeeping duties, preventative facility maintenance, emergency repairs, and day-to-day operations while maintaining a cohesive and team-approach work environment with an expectation of a high level of customer service.

This role pays an hourly rate of $20.00-$22.00 CAD.

About The Venue

The Temple Gardens Centre in Moose Jaw stands as southern Saskatchewan's premier venue, encompassing 210,000 square feet of versatile space dedicated to community recreation and entertainment, boasting a 4500-seat arena, an 8-sheet curling rink with a two-tier lounge overlooking the ice, and meeting and conference spaces.

• Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• Perform maintenance including but not limited to painting, drywall repairs, maintaining exterior sidewalks, snow and ice removal, parking lots and grounds, and various other tasks.
