Job summary

BGO is seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor for our Edmonton portfolio. The role oversees maintenance, repairs, and installations of climate control and building systems across multiple sites, ensuring safety and environmental responsibility while achieving operational efficiency.

You will supervise the operations team, coordinate with tenants, contractors, and inspectors, and drive energy-saving improvements.

Qualifications

5+ years directly related experience in building operations systems (HVAC, Electrical, Controls, Fire Alarm, Life Safety, BMS).
Post-secondary education with courses in HVAC, Electrical, Controls and/or Fire Alarm.
Valid driver’s license.
Minimum 5th Class Power Engineer Certification required.

Responsibilities

Run the day-to-day integrated maintenance program including preventive maintenance and equipment logs.
Monitor and manage mechanical, electrical, ventilation, heating, cooling, life safety and lighting control systems.
Respond promptly to emergencies and environmental hazards; participate in safety program.
Supervise operations staff; set duty lists, schedules, and assist with hiring and reviews.
Liaise with contractors/inspectors; help with budgets; maintain building archives and ESG compliance.
Support tenant relations by addressing HVAC calls and environmental concerns.
Suggest system improvements and energy-efficiency upgrades.
