Job summary

Colonial Group building operations role seeks a Building Operator to ensure a safe, well-maintained, and environmentally conscious facility. You will support the operation of central HVAC, hydronic systems, pumps, and safety systems, coordinating with contractors and handling work orders.

The position emphasizes energy management, adherence to OH&S/WHMIS programs, and hands-on mechanical/electrical troubleshooting.

Qualifications

3-5 years of experience in commercial property/office building management operations.
Strong knowledge of Building HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, BAS, and Life Safety Systems.
4th class power engineering license or BES certifications.
Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Assist in efficient operations of base building equipment and systems (HVAC, pumps, domestic water, sanitary systems).
Assist contractors, obtain estimates for proposed work.
Perform daily tasks: checks, preventive maintenance, monitor BMS, respond to work orders, test fire alarm and emergency power systems.
Participate in energy management for mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
Provide tour and inspection reports and support WHMIS/environmental health & safety programs.
