Job summary

Homestead is seeking a Building Manager in Ottawa to oversee daily operations of the building, coordinate maintenance, support tenant relations, handle administrative duties, and ensure a welcoming, well-managed environment for residents and visitors.

This role requires 40 hours per week with weekend shifts and on-call duties, and involves managing rents, showing vacant units, and coordinating safety and general tasks to keep the property in top condition.

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance/cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 kg.
• Reliability, attention to detail, and safe work practices are essential.
• Team player.

Responsibilities

• Ensure cleanliness of common areas and corridors.
• Prepare apartments for new residents.
• Facilitate work orders and minor maintenance in plumbing & electrical.
• Other grounds maintenance.
• Address tenant concerns effectively and promptly.
• Maintain positive relations with tenants.
• Show vacant apartments to prospective residents.
• Collect and record incoming rents.
• Serve legal documents as needed.
• Rent upcoming suites and complete required documentation.
• Follow an on-call schedule.
• Other duties as assigned by the Property Manager.
