Qualifications

• Effective verbal and written communication in English.
• Ability to deal with residents in a professional manner.
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations, maintenance, and safety of the property.
• Assist with concierge duties and maintain common area cleanliness.
• Program key fobs, enter-phones, and manage email communications.
• Perform regular checks of hallways, mechanical and electrical areas.
• Complete monthly fire safety checklist and report findings.
• Coordinate with strata manager and strata council; attend meetings.
• Provide basic security support and report suspicious activity.
• Handle move-ins/move-outs and fob requests in concierge's absence.
• Troubleshoot basic telecommunication and computer issues.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are currently looking for a Building Manager/Concierge for a 7-floor residential building with 60 units in Vancouver. This is a part-time position that combines Building Manager, Concierge, and Cleaning responsibilities. The Building Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations, maintenance, and safety of the property while also assisting with concierge duties and maintaining the cleanliness of common areas. This role ensures the building operates efficiently while providing a clean, safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Program key fobs, enter-phones, and email communication
• Checks of all common areas (Hallway, mechanical, electrical)
• Monthly fire safety checklist (required by City Fire Department)
• Regular cleanup of mechanical, electrical and storage rooms
• Basic security detail: checking doors, reporting suspicious activity
• Reporting back to strata manager, and strata council
• High level security detail: asking people to leave, checking camera footage.
• Monthly reports to strata council and strata manager
• Meeting with trades, spending time with them, and reporting back to strata
• Meeting with residents, listening to them and resolve basic issues.
• Attending council meeting upon inviting.
• Attending to in-suite issues such as water leaks, doors, windows and reporting back
• Basic mechanical, electrical troubleshooting from extensive industry experience
• Picking up and delivering essential items and supplies
• Completing basic telecommunication, and computer troubleshooting
• In the absence of the concierge, the Building Manager will provide support with tasks such as move-ins and move-outs, enterphone management, and fob requests.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• Proven experience in facility management, preferably in residential settings
• Experience with pool testing and maintenance is preferred. However, candidates without prior pool testing experience will be provided with training opportunities.
• Reliable and punctual
• Possess a keen eye for detail
• Customer service experience is an asset
• Computer skills (email, word document)
• Effective verbal and written communication in English
• Ability to deal with residents in a professional, positive, and friendly manner
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $22.00 per hour

Schedule: Saturday - Sunday, 9 am - 3 pm

Starting date: ASAP

Experience
