Job summary

Marcon in Vancouver, BC is seeking a hands-on Building Manager (Live-In) to handle day-to-day operations, maintenance, and presentation of W42 residential community. You will respond to maintenance requests, coordinate with vendors, and help keep residents safe and comfortable.

Reporting to the Property Manager, you will perform routine inspections, support on-site contractors, and maintain high standards of property appearance. A background in building operations and a Red Seal asset are valued.

Qualifications

• When applying, hands-on experience in building operations and maintenance is required.
• Experience with minor repairs, inspections, and janitorial support is preferred.
• Understanding safety and preventative maintenance practices is essential.
• Ability to manage urgent maintenance and coordinate with vendors on-site.

Marcon is seeking a hands‑on Building Manager (Live‑In) to support the day‑to‑day operation, maintenance, and presentation of our W42 residential community. Reporting to the Property Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring both properties remain safe, clean, functional, and welcoming for residents. This role combines building maintenance, property inspections, vendor coordination, and common area upkeep. You will be responsible for responding to maintenance requests, identifying deficiencies before they become larger issues, supporting contractors and service providers on‑site, and helping maintain high standards of property appearance and operational readiness. At W42, the role includes additional responsibility for routine inspections, site maintenance activities, and supporting the overall functionality and performance of the property. Success in this position requires strong practical maintenance skills, sound judgment, a proactive approach to problem‑solving, and a commitment to resident service.

What You Bring

• 3-5 years of experience in building operations, facilities maintenance, property operations, or a related field
• Practical experience performing minor repairs, inspections, janitorial support, and general property maintenance
• Strong understanding of safe work practices and preventative maintenance principles
• Ability to prioritize work effectively and respond to urgent maintenance issues
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently while coordinating with property management and service providers
• Ability to lift up to 20 kg and safely move tools, materials, ladders, appliances, and related equipment
• Availability to respond to after‑hours or emergency maintenance situations as required
• Experience with Yardi Maintenance IQ or similar maintenance management systems is considered an asset
• Red Seal certification or a related trade qualification is considered an asset

Compensation

The annual salary for this position is $50,000 to $70,000, depending on experience and optional live‑in status.
