Job summary

Redwood Inn & Suites in Calgary, Alberta, is seeking a reliable hotel housekeeper to maintain cleanliness of hallways, guest rooms and public areas. The role requires 1 year to 2 years of experience, secondary school graduation, and the ability to work at a single on-site location.

You will operate cleaning equipment, inspect rooms, perform safety checks, and support maintenance staff. Excellent oral and written communication, dependability and physical stamina are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, scrub and wax hallways, floors and stairs.
• Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove debris and waste.
• Empty trash cans and sort waste as needed.
• Wash windows and interior surfaces.
• Perform minor repairs and report major issues to maintenance.
• Conduct safety and security checks and supervise others as applicable.
• Move furniture and assist with upkeep and painting/drywall tasks.
• Water plants and assist with grounds maintenance.
• Work with minimal supervision and handle snow/ice removal.

RESPONSIBILITIES

TASKS

• Sweep, mop, scrub and wax hallways, floors and stairs
• Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris and other refuse
• Empty trash cans and other waste containers
• Wash windows, interior walls and ceilings
• Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs
• Perform minor repairs on appliances
• Perform safety and security checks
• Supervise other workers
• Move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies
• Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair
• Water and tend to plants, lawns and/or gardens
• Work with minimal supervision
• Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas
