Job summary

GDI Ainsworth in Canada is seeking an Electrical Apprentice to install and service electrical systems in new and retrofit construction projects. You will read drawings, install conduits, pull wires, troubleshoot faults and ensure compliance with safety policies.

The role requires SK apprenticeship progress, electrical knowledge and strong attention to detail. Applicants must have a valid driver's license and be capable of working in a team on construction sites.

Qualifications

• Electrical Apprentice in SK (3rd-4th year) with conduit experience.
• High School degree, diploma, or GED from a certified college.
• Knowledge of electrical theory and terminology.
• HVAC/building automation experience and VFDs a plus.
• Ability to read and draw simple electrical sketches and schematics.
• Strong English proficiency, written and oral.
• Attention to detail for precise work in construction installs.
• Commercial/construction installations experience.
• Class 5 driver’s license and clean abstract.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams and code specs for wiring layouts.
• Cut, bend, thread and install conduits and fittings.
• Pull wire through conduits and ceiling spaces.
• Install, replace and repair electrical equipment.
• Troubleshoot faults and replace faulty components.
• Splice and connect wire to form control systems.
• Follow company policies and health & safety rules.
• Work with minimal supervision and in line with Safety policies.
