Job summary

Jobtailor in Quebec seeks an Automation/Controls Technician to program, commission, and maintain digital control systems across customer sites. You will lead project delivery, train customers, and collaborate with sales to estimate new projects and service contracts.

The role requires at least 3 years in building automation, knowledge of BACnet/Modbus/OPC, and the ability to travel within the province. English reading is required and security clearances may be needed.

Qualifications

• Postsecondary diploma in instrumentation and controls or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in building mechanics, industrial or building automation.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with BACnet, Modbus, OPC, Echelon, and similar protocols.
• Minimum 1 year of experience using basic Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
• Class 5 driver’s licence; valid in Canada.
• Reading comprehension in English.
• Ability to travel within the province up to 10%.
• Ability to participate in on-call rotations.
• Must obtain customer-required security clearances.
• Knowledge of controls, pneumatics, electrical systems, and digital controls.

• Collaborate with Dispatch and customers to meet expectations.
• Manage customer satisfaction and provide advice and recommendations.
• Document work according to standards and maintain documentation.
• Maintain and grow the business volume of assigned contracts and projects.
• Travel up to 10% within Quebec and be available for on-call work.

• The successful candidate must obtain the security clearances required by customers
