Job summary

Jobtailor in Montreal, QC is seeking an experienced engineer to review project inputs, prepare RFIs, evaluate HVAC equipment, and select DDC controllers and field devices.

You will prepare BOQs, cost estimates, and system architecture while coordinating with stakeholders across regions. Proficiency in French, strong leadership, and a track record in BAS and control systems are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on technical experience with building automation systems and control systems.
• Excellent spoken and written French, with some proficiency in English.
• Degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• Master’s degree or professional certification.
• In-depth expertise in building automation systems (BAS) and control systems.
• Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders across different geographic regions and time zones.

Responsibilities

• Review project inputs and generate RFIs.
• Evaluate HVAC equipment, prepare I/O summaries, select DDC controllers, and select field devices.
• Prepare BOQs, estimate costs, select valves, and plan conduits and cabling.
• Analyze specifications to determine inclusions, exclusions, qualifications, and technical assumptions; document deviations and compliance.
• Generate RFQs, identify subcontractor deliverables, and evaluate their costs.
• Prepare system architecture, riser diagrams, and control schematics in accordance with regional specifications.
• Generate scopes of work detailing inclusions, exclusions, and deliverables.
• Follow regional and customer technical preferences for estimating.
• Apply knowledge of Honeywell products to develop solutions that meet customer requirements.
• Participate in mentoring and quality control of work.
• Understand the new-construction ecosystem to identify the lowest total installed cost.
