Job summary

Wealthsimple Inc. in Toronto seeks an experienced leader for brokerage ledger operations to safeguard ledger integrity and drive audit readiness.

You will partner with Engineering and Finance to automate workflows, remediate data issues, and scale the brokerage general ledger processes. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in brokerage accounting, direct GL experience, and a track record of cross-functional collaboration with regulatory oversight.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in brokerage or broker-dealer accounting, finance, or ledger operations.
• Direct general ledger experience operating an in-house ledger day-to-day.
• Cross-functional fluency communicating technical requirements to Engineering and accounting logic to Finance.
• Experience with regulatory oversight such as MFRs or SOC audits.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Ledger Integrity: lead cross-functional efforts for accurate journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Remediate Systemic Issues: investigate data anomalies and design automated long-term solutions.
• Lead Audit Readiness: coordinate deliverables for brokerage audits and maintain process documentation.
• Oversee Asset Movements: monitor ledger transfers and manage exceptions.
• Scale Operations: partner with Engineering to automate workflows and reduce risk.
• Develop the Team & Processes: mentor staff and design improvements to eliminate single points of failure.
