Job summary

Aon plc in Canada is seeking a Commercial Risk Placement Broker to negotiate with leading insurers and build tailored insurance programs for large commercial clients. You will work with Account Directors to prepare for renewals and drive risk transfer strategies at a national level.

You’ll interact with clients across Quebec and other provinces, leveraging bilingual communication to deliver market-leading solutions while collaborating with brokerage operations and client service teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 to 10 years of broking or related experience.
• French / English bilingualism required due to frequent interactions with clients and partners.
• Client focused with proven relationship-building skills.

What the day will look like

• Negotiate with underwriters to secure the best terms and competitive pricing for both existing and new clients;
• Verify the accuracy of all policies and documentation, ensuring they comply with the agreed terms and conditions;
• Collaborate with Account Directors to develop coverage strategies and initiatives in preparation for renewals and business development;
• Analyze clients' current and potential risks to determine insurance needs, then prepare and present marketing proposals for renewals and new opportunities;
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with the underwriting community in the best interest of clients;
• Approve documentation related to new contracts, policy changes, additions, deletions, and renewals;
• Lead by example by promoting and sharing best practices across all areas of the business.
