Job Description
We are currently searching for a Bridge Technologist in our Calgary office.
The successful candidate will work with engineers and other technologists to provide design, and drafting services for a variety of public and private sector clients with a focus on bridges, municipal structures, and other transportation-related infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include:
• Utilizing CAD software to create and prepare technical drawings for our bridge, roadway and aviation projects that best represent project requirements from concept to detailed design to record.
• Modifying and revising existing drawings based on feedback from engineers, project managers or other team members.
• Working closely with colleagues to understand and ensure compliance of drafting standards.
• Preparing and exporting drawings and models in various formats for project submissions.
• Organizing and managing a variety of CAD files, ensuring that drawings and models are accessible to other team members.
Job Requirements
What you will bring:
• A diploma in civil engineering, or engineering design and drafting, from an accredited technical institution.
• 8+ years of experience in bridge design and drafting (steel, concrete, timber structures).
• Experience with Alberta Transportation Engineering drafting guidelines for highway and bridge projects is an asset
• Proficient in the use of AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Committed team player and the ability to work independently.
• Experience with Revit, Sketchup or other 3D modelling software is an asset.
• Consulting experience is an asset.
• Registered, or eligible or registration with ASET.
