Job summary

McElhanney Ltd. is seeking an Intermediate Bridge Engineer to lead and grow our Alberta bridge practice from Edmonton. You will design, inspect, and supervise bridge projects, collaborating with teams across Alberta and BC to deliver complex crossings and rehabilitation work.

The role offers a clear path to senior leadership and potential employee ownership within a strong, employee-owned firm.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited institution and 6–12 years in a similar role.
• Master’s degree is an asset and P.Eng licensure in Alberta is required or eligible.
• Strong knowledge of CSA S6 and TEC standards; proficient structural analysis software.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and analyze bridges and related transportation structures.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across Alberta and BC.
• Prepare and review structural design calculations for bridges and related works.
• Assist in business development, proposals, and cost estimations.
• Mentor junior engineers and support project schedules and budgets.
