Job summary

Germain Hotels in Toronto is seeking a sociable Breakfast and Banquet Server to ensure guests have everything they need during lunches, meetings, events and banquets. You will prepare rooms, respond to requests, restock beverages, and maintain a high standard of presentation.

You will work closely with the kitchen team to deliver quality service, keep areas clean, and support a smooth, enjoyable dining experience for guests.

Qualifications

• Experience in restaurant service is required or asset.
• Barista experience is an asset.
• Ability to manage stress and work under pressure.
• Physical condition to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lb.

Responsibilities

• Prepare rooms for lunches, meetings, banquets and events: stations, tables, etc.
• Respond to requests and assist guests throughout the service; handle payments.
• Restock and ensure attractive presentation and sufficient quantities.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation per health and safety standards.
• Collaborate with kitchen and team members to ensure smooth service.
• Prepare and serve beverages including coffee, espresso, lattes, cappuccinos, and teas.

We're looking for a sociable and enthusiastic Breakfast and Banquet Server to make sure our guests have everything they need during lunches, meetings, events and banquets. This person, who enjoys making friendly connections with people, contributes to a high-quality experience during service periods, whether moving a table, cleaning a station or serving a tasty beverage.

The schedule is Tuesday to Saturday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Prepare rooms for lunches, meetings, banquets and events: stations, tables, etc.
• Respond to requests and assist guests throughout the service; bring what's missing, handle payment, etc.
• Always offer an attractive presentation and a sufficient quantity of food and beverages during the event: restock as needed.
• Ensure cleanliness, sanitation and cleaning of premises and equipment in accordance with health, safety and sanitation requirements.
• Work as a team with the kitchen and other team members to ensure quality service that is both smooth and enjoyable.

• Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, espresso, lattes, cappuccinos, and teas, in accordance with established quality standards.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of different coffee varieties, brewing and extraction methods, and beverage presentation standards.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• High school diploma or equivalent, an asset
• Experience in restaurant service, barista an asset
• Excellent stress and pressure management skills
• Good physical condition: must be able to stand for several hours at a time and lift/carry loads of up to 50 lb

The hourly rate for this role is 17,60$, in alignment with internal equity.
