Job summary

Dexterra Group is seeking a Breakfast Cook based at a world class remote camp facility. The regular shift is 14 days on and 14 days off, with 12-hour days. Transportation to site is provided from a designated pickup point.

The role involves preparing breakfast and baked goods to high standards while adhering to safety and hygiene regulations. Minimum FoodSafe Level I is required; SafeCheck advanced food safety or HACCP is an asset.

Qualifications

• FoodSafe Level I is a minimum.
• SafeCheck advanced food safety or HACCP is an asset.
• Minimum 3 years cooking and baking experience in similar or hotel/institutional environment.
• Prior supervisory experience is an asset.
• Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must obtain 80% or higher on the WHMIS test.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook breakfast for up to 600 clients.
• Create and follow menus to ensure quality.
• Wrap and date baked goods per production schedule.
• Maintain consistent food quality per client requirements including dietary needs.
• Ensure kitchen equipment operation, safety and sanitation.
• Comply with food hygiene regulations under the Food Safety Act.
• Clean, wash, and sanitize equipment and work areas.

Job Description

WHAT’S THE JOB?

Based in a world class Dexterra Remote Camp Facility, the regular shift for this position is 14 days on and 14 days off, with 12-hour workdays. Transportation is provided to site from a designated pickup point.

TheBreakfast Cookis responsible for delighting our clients by preparing and cooking breakfast and baked goods to the highest standards of Horizon North.

This position is safety sensitive and requires a criminal background check as a condition of employment.

Your work will include:

• Preparing and cooking breakfast for up to 600clients
• Creating and following menus to ensure quality of food prepared and served
• Wrapping and dating all baked goods in accordance with production schedule
• Ensuring consistent quality standard in over-all food preparation as per clients’ requirements including consideration to special dietary constraints
• Ensuring proper equipment operation, safety and sanitation in the kitchen
• Complying with food hygiene regulations in accordance with Food Safety Act
• Cleaning, washing, and sanitizing equipment and over-all work areas
