Job summary

Dexterra Group, based at a world-class remote camp facility, seeks a Breakfast Cook to manage breakfast and baked goods for up to 600 clients. The role operates on a 14 on/14 off shift, with 12-hour days and provided transport to site.

This safety-sensitive position requires a criminal background check and adherence to high safety and food standards. Responsibilities include menu creation, HACCP-type compliance, and maintaining hygiene and equipment safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years cooking and baking experience in a similar or hotel/institutional environment
• Must obtain 80%+ on the mandatory WHMIS test
• Food safety certifications required; FoodSafe Level I minimum; HACCP asset
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook breakfast for up to 600 clients
• Create and follow menus to ensure quality
• Wrap and date baked goods per production schedule
• Maintain consistent quality per client requirements including dietary constraints
• Ensure proper kitchen equipment operation, safety and sanitation
• Comply with food hygiene regulations per Food Safety Act
• Clean, wash, and sanitize equipment and work areas

Job Description

WHAT’S THE JOB?

Based in a world class Dexterra Remote Camp Facility, the regular shift for this position is 14 days on and 14 days off, with 12-hour workdays. Transportation is provided to site from a designated pickup point.

TheBreakfast Cookis responsible for delighting our clients by preparing and cooking breakfast and baked goods to the highest standards of Horizon North.

This position is safety sensitive and requires a criminal background check as a condition of employment.

Your work will include:

• Preparing and cooking breakfast for up to 600clients
• Creating and following menus to ensure quality of food prepared and served
• Wrapping and dating all baked goods in accordance with production schedule
• Ensuring consistent quality standard in over-all food preparation as per clients’ requirements including consideration to special dietary constraints
• Ensuring proper equipment operation, safety and sanitation in the kitchen
• Complying with food hygiene regulations in accordance with Food Safety Act
• Cleaning, washing, and sanitizing equipment and over-all work areas
