Employee Status: Rotational

Key Responsibilities


  • Report to the Sous Chef; assists the First Cook in organizing and managing buffets and Grab & Go preparation as per the menu

  • Ensure quality and standards are met on a daily basis

  • Attend the serving line during service hours

  • Maintain the cold bar during service hours

  • Ensure proper food handling procedures are being followed

  • Attend daily toolbox meetings

  • Maintain positive and upbeat work environment

  • Maintain a positive and congenial attitude when dealing with guests

  • Assist in maintaining and controlling inventory; advise supervisor when items are needed

  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment

  • Follow all cleaning schedules as directed

  • Assist first cooks and chefs as directed by the supervisor



Qualifications


  • A culinary diploma or related training may be preferred

  • STCW Basic Safety Courses

  • Seafarer's Medical Certificate

  • Proven experience as a breakfast Cook, preferably in a floating food service platform or cruise ship environment

  • Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques, food preparation, and presentation

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays

  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and the ability to ensure compliance

  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment



Working Conditions


  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift

  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs

  • Frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling and lifting

  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
