Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Inventory Controller, responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Be responsible for controlling all operations for the warehouse, as directed
  • Ensure the warehouse and working areas are clean and always organized
  • Deliveries from the warehouse must be completed on time and as per the schedule.
  • All deliveries from the warehouse must be documented and hard copies kept in the storekeepers' office.
  • Ensure proper storage for all goods, meeting company Health and Safety requirements
  • Maintain inventory control utilizing FIFO. Periodic inventory takes must be conducted, ensuring the physical inventory always matches the theoretical inventory.
  • Expiry dates of products are to be controlled. Items with short expiry windows must be prioritized, and the managers concerned must be informed well in advance to avoid spoilage.
  • Spoilage and inventory discrepancies must be kept to a minimum. You will be held accountable for any spoilage or inventory discrepancies above normal levels
  • Ensure periodic reports are sent to the concerned managers on time
  • Responsible for establishing and implementing a training program for your direct reports. Records of training must be kept and will be inspected by the manager.

Qualifications

  • A supply chain management diploma or related training may be preferred
  • STCW Basic Safety Courses
  • Seafarer's Medical Certificate
  • Proven experience in inventory control or storekeeping, preferably in a floating food service platform or cruise ship environment
  • proficiency in shipboard inventory software
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and the ability to ensure compliance.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
