Job summary

LandSea Camp Services is seeking a Breakfast Cook/Baker to prepare and serve breakfast items at remote BC camps, with on-site meals and accommodation provided. The role requires 3-5 years cooking/baking experience, strong English communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced setting.

Wages range from CAD 22.57 to CAD 25.65 per hour, with overtime and shift rotation options. Travel subsidies and health benefits may be available for full-time staff; uniforms and PPE provided as applicable.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience as a breakfast cook, line cook, baker or similar role.
  • High production baking experience with 70% scratch baking.
  • Knowledge of breakfast food preparation and cooking techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook breakfast items such as eggs, omelets, pancakes, waffles, breakfast meats, and other menu offerings.
  • Set up and stock cooking stations before service.
  • Ensure all food is prepared according to recipes, portion standards, and quality requirements.
  • Monitor food inventory and notify management of supply needs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
  • Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating food products.
  • Work efficiently during busy breakfast service periods.
  • Support other kitchen staff as needed.
  • Clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations after service.

About Working in Remote Camps
  • Our camps are located in remote areas and staff live on-site on scheduled shifts and leave camp on scheduled breaks.
  • Most of our LandSea camps offer individual staff accommodation, ensuite or shared bathroom, full meals, WIFI and some have health/gym facilities for staff.
  • Camp staff work long hours and multiple days in a row. A typical workday is between 10-12 hours (day or night shift) and overtime rates apply.
  • Health and Safety and a Respectful Workplace are essential for everyone working together at LandSea. Our camps are drug and alcohol-free workplaces and require pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.

The Breakfast Cook and Baker is responsible for preparing breakfast and service, plus preparing all baked items, as outlined in a predetermined menu plan.

About the Job, Benefits and Perks
  • Wages starting between $22.57 to $25.65 per hour
  • Overtime pay Schedule: 10‑hour or 12‑hour shifts depending on operational needs
  • Rotation: 4 weeks on and 2 weeks off, 3 weeks on and 1 week off or 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum 3-5 years' previous experience as a breakfast cook, line cook, baker or similar role
  • High production baking experience while maintaining a minimum of 70% scratch baking
  • Knowledge of breakfast food preparation and cooking techniques
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
  • Food Safe Certification is an asset
  • Great communication. Speak, read and write English
  • Team player who can provide support, motivation, and encouragement to others
