Overview

The Breakfast Attendant is responsible for providing exceptional service to guests in an efficient and courteous manner within the hotel’s complimentary breakfast area.

Responsibilities
  1. Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
  2. Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and grooming, including proper uniform and name tag.
  3. Greet and seat guests promptly.
  4. Ensure quality control of menus regarding cleanliness and appearance.
  5. Clear, clean, and reset tables and hotel spaces as per instructions.
  6. Keep service areas stocked, organized, clean, and neat; complete all side work each shift.
  7. Accommodate guest requests and offer alternatives when necessary.
  8. Coordinate with other departments regarding VIP guests.
  9. Support beverage and food service, including dishwashing, restocking, cleaning, and floor maintenance.
  10. Know standards for room service orders.
  11. Be familiar with menu items and specials.
  12. Handle cashiering duties, including check closing and shift paperwork.
  13. Perform opening and closing duties and side work as assigned.
  14. Answer guest questions about the hotel, local attractions, and services.
  15. Perform additional duties or attend meetings as required.
  16. Produce high-quality drinks, including coffee, tea, cocktails, and other beverages as needed.
Qualifications
  1. Attention to detail, speed, and accuracy in job performance.
  2. High School diploma or equivalent preferred; hotel or related experience is a plus.
  3. Willingness to work varied shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  4. Legal age to serve alcohol and pass responsible serving training (e.g., TIPs).
  5. Ability to obtain a Food Handlers card as required.
  6. Ability to evaluate situations and act quickly and accurately.
  7. Calm, professional handling of stressful situations.
  8. Understanding of hotel products and guest services.
  9. Professional communication skills for guest and team interactions.
  10. Positive attitude and service-oriented mindset.
  11. Basic knowledge of food and beverage standards, guest relations, and etiquette.
  12. Numerical skills for handling transactions.
  13. Ability to read, understand, and write simple instructions or memos.
  14. Patience, tact, and diplomacy in customer interactions.
  15. Willingness to learn and support team members.
