Job summary

Southbridge Care Homes Exeter is seeking a Cook for a part-time vacancy at our brand-new long term care home opening in Exeter, Ontario in September 2026. You will prepare meals according to standardized recipes, manage meal service, and support dietary needs of residents.

The role reports to the Food Service Manager with preference for institutional cooking experience and relevant certification. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a high‑standard, resident-focused dining

Qualifications

• One of the following strengths: chef training/culinary management cert/diploma, Cook certificate, or nutrition-related post-secondary diploma/degree.
• Demonstrated and proven experience in institutional, health care, restaurant, or hospitality cooking.
• Red Seal certification preferred.
• Experience in large-volume institutional cooking preferred.
• Ability to read and write English and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Reviews regular and therapeutic menus and sets up equipment and supplies for food preparation.
• Prepares food and nourishments following standardized recipes and production sheets.
• Ensures meals are served on time, at proper temperatures and in portion-controlled quantities.
• Directs dietary aides in basic food preparation and serving activities.
• Maintains records such as menu changes, delivery receipts, and temperature checks.
