Job summary

RBC Boissevain-Morton branch in Manitoba seeks a seasoned leader to coach and develop a client-focused team, guiding staff in delivering personalized advice for personal and business banking, credit and investments using digital tools.

You will drive engagement, recruit and develop talent, collaborate with financial planning and business banking specialists, and ensure a high level of service aligned with RBC’s values and community goals.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-3 years in a relationship management role within the financial industry.
  • Experience coaching / leadership, or mentoring advisors.
  • Mutual funds accreditation (IFIC or CSC).
  • Completion of mutual fund branch management exam (BCO) or ability to write within 4 months.

Job description

This unique position calls on your strong client-focused and advice-oriented approach, combined with your flexibility and adaptability, are essential for leading and coaching your team. Together, you help clients with their everyday banking (personal and business), credit, and investment needs through the use of new digital tools in our RBC meeting place location. As an RBC ambassador, you add value in the moments that matter most to clients and collaborate with RBC colleagues and partners to help clients achieve their goals. Your ability to foster long-lasting relationships and provide professional advice allows you to contribute to the success of your clients, your business, and your community. Further, you support the ongoing development of your team through consistent routines to ensure a high level of employee capability and engagement.

What will you do?
  • Ensure high employee engagement through talent management, development & career planning
  • Model & coach your team on client advice and education, problem resolution and prevention at first point of contact, and advocate for digital enablement and multichannel usage
  • Deliver results through strong routines and coaching ability
  • Focus on client education and demonstration, leveraging technology to deliver a memorable client experience, drive brand value and retain relationships
  • Inspire, orchestrate and pioneer superior retailing/hospitality excellence to deliver a memorable client experience
  • Collaborate with market leading professionals in financial planning, retirement planning, home equity finance specialists & business banking experts to ensure clients receive customized, expert advice
  • Partner with your manager to ensure operational effectiveness of the location and maximize the performance of the team
  • Address local community needs through appropriate recruitment, management practices and community advice events in branch and outside in the community.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
  • Above average digital literacy across a broad range of devices (e.g., smartphones, tablets, laptops, etc.) and can learn new technology very quickly
  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a relationship management role within the financial industry (i.e. Banking Advisor, Financial Advisor)
  • Experience in a coaching / leadership role, or acting as a mentor to advisors
  • Mutual Funds accreditation (IFIC or CSC) and at least 2 years of licensed mutual fund experience within the last 3 years
  • Completion of an acceptable mutual fund branch management exam (BCO) offered by the CSI or ability to write the exam within 4 months of start date
  • Demonstrated success delivering / coaching to providing advice to clients resulting in strong client relationships and superior business results
Nice-to-have
  • Strong communication and decision-making skills, with the ability to communicate and lead change
  • Strong multi-tasker and self-starter who is comfortable working independently, as well as in a flexible environment
  • A post-secondary diploma/degree, ideally in Commerce, Business Administration or related experience
