Job description

Branch Floater - Contract - Temporary Full-Time - Montreal QC

Chit Chats’ vision is to help Canadians deliver their goods to the world with postage at unbelievable prices. We are a fast-growing entrepreneurial company making a huge impact on Canadian entrepreneurs and businesses. As e-commerce removes borders, we don’t want high Canadian postal rates to be a barrier to world commerce. We aim to remove these physical and price borders to create a seamless, borderless, and boundless world of opportunity for Canadians.

We value all of our clients. Our success has been built by honesty, trust, determination, and delivering on our promises. Our staff must be loyal and committed to the business. Customs compliance and customer service are our top priorities. We value hard work, diversity, teamwork, and respect.

As a Chit Chats Branch Floater, you deliver a delightful experience to clients in our branches. You are the first line of defense for compliance adherence, and always do your best to ensure shipments comply with customs laws — our business depends on it! You process and sort shipments meticulously and are highly proficient in navigating our platform. You are always seeking more efficient, cost-effective ways of getting things done while aligning with our strategic goals and values.

You build rapport with clients and teammates alike. You show up on time, dress appropriately, and get the job done because you know clients and teammates rely on you. You take pride in and maintain a clean and tidy branch.

You primarily work out of our Plateau, Brossard, and Montreal (St. Laurent) locations but are available to work at various sites across Quebec as needed.

Responsibilities to Clients

  • Greet customers while representing Chit Chats’ brand and values.
  • Interact and develop positive rapport with customers, representing the company professionally and seeking opportunities to grow our business.
  • Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and organization of the branch.
  • Handle administrative duties and respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, and face-to-face interactions.
  • Provide consultative service, answer questions, and recommend products and services.
  • Process shipments carefully, including scanning, sorting, and loading onto skids.
  • Manage inventory and order supplies as needed.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing client returns.

Responsibilities to Team

  • Assist branches when they are short-staffed.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and risk management policies.
  • Open and close branches as required.
  • Follow company policies and procedures diligently.
  • Contribute to escalation logs and provide summaries to management.
  • Help optimize procedures for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Participate in additional tasks or projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Available to work during current branch hours (Monday - Friday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.).
  • Willing to commute to all Montreal branches for coverage.
  • At least two years of retail experience.
  • Experience with income statements is desirable.
  • Strong computer skills, including Google Docs and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to take full responsibility for branch operations.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy loads when necessary.
  • Excellent multitasking skills with attention to detail and a positive attitude.
  • Proactive, helpful, and committed to smooth logistics operations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and basic French.
  • Passion for customer service, exceeding expectations, and doing the right thing.
  • Trustworthy, organized, reliable, and positive.

Note : Current hours are Monday to Friday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., with occasional Sunday coverage. Branch management experience (minimum 2 years) and P&L experience are preferred. Strong typing skills (minimum 50 WPM) and experience with Moneris, Google Docs, and Microsoft Office are required. Safety shoes (green triangle patch) are mandatory. Travel within the city may be necessary. This is a temporary contract with potential for permanence.
