Job summary

Paladin Security Group is seeking a Full-Time Security Guard for Brampton Civic Hospital. You will patrol hospital premises, control access points, monitor cameras, and respond to emergencies while supporting staff, patients, and visitors.

Requirements include Ontario Security License, First Aid & CPR Level C, immunizations, and English fluency. Training for UOF/MOAB may be provided with a six-month commitment. Position offers AA overtime after 88 hours and weekend coverage in Brampton, Ontario.

Qualifications

• Valid Security License for Ontario.

• Immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella and two step TB skin test.
• English (oral and written) fluency is a must.
• Vulnerable Sector Check to be completed upon hire.
• Must have UOF and MOAB certifications or join Paladin's program pre onboarding.
• Legally authorized to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises, including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits.

• Monitor and control entry points to ensure only authorized access.
• Act quickly in emergencies and assist staff during crises and evacuations.
• Greet and assist visitors, patients, and staff and provide directions.
• De-escalate tense situations and handle interactions calmly and professionally.
• Document daily activities and incidents and complete incident reports.
• Work with hospital staff and local law enforcement for coordinated security.
• Ensure adherence to hospital policies and patient/visitor protocols.

Site Description: As Ontario’s largest community hospital, Osler serves a population of over 1.3 million people living in one of the fastest growing and most culturally diverse regions of Canada. Serving the residents of Brampton, Etobicoke, and surrounding communities within the Central West Local Health Integration Network. Osler’s emergency departments are among the busiest in Canada and its labor and delivery program is one of the largest in the province.

Position: Full-Time Patrol Officer

Site: Brampton Civic Hospital - 2100 Bovaird Drive East, Brampton

Averaging Agreement: Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Payrate: $21.49 / an hour (based on levelling system)

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises, including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits, to ensure the safety and security of the site.


• Operate security cameras and alarm systems, ensuring any suspicious activity is reported immediately to the appropriate authorities.


• Monitor and control entry points to the hospital, ensuring that only authorized individuals are allowed access to restricted areas.


• Act quickly in emergency situations, such as medical emergencies, fire alarms, or security threats. Assist hospital staff as needed during crises and evacuations.


• Greet and assist visitors, patients, and hospital staff. Provide directions and ensure that guests adhere to hospital policies and procedures.


• De-escalate tense situations, resolve conflicts, and ensure that all interactions are handled calmly and professionally.


• Document daily activities, incidents, or accidents accurately. Complete reports on incidents, breaches, and security concerns.


• Work closely with hospital staff and local law enforcement to provide a coordinated security effort and ensure the safety of all parties involved.


• Ensure that hospital policies, including visitor and patient protocols, are followed. Address any violations in a manner that upholds hospital safety standards

Prerequisites:

• Valid Security License for the province of Ontario


• Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)


• Immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella and two step TB skin test


• English (oral and written) fluency is a must


• Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.


• Diploma in Justice studies/police foundations is considered an asset.


• Vulnerable Sector Check - to be completed upon hire


• Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)


• Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB certification program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position


• Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB Certification is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
