Job summary

March of Dimes in Toronto seeks a Part-Time Brain Injury Rehabilitation Worker to support adults with brain injury in home and community settings, delivering individualized services.

The position offers a rotating schedule, up to 30 hours per week under the collective agreement. Starting wage is $20.06 per hour, with a $3.00 per hour government wage enhancement for hours spent directly supporting clients; training and paid leave are not covered by the enhancement.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Human or Social Services or related field.
• Three years or more experience in Human Services, preferably with ABI.
• Current CPR/First Aid is an asset.
• Reliable, flexible, and able to work independently.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement individualized support plans in home/community for adults with brain injury.
• Assist with daily living, cognitive and problem-solving skills, community orientation and integration.
• Provide services during weekday business hours with flexibility.
• Complete daily logs, incident reports and verbal updates as required.
• Participate in required training and adhere to policies.
• Potential on-call requirements.

This Opportunity

We are currently looking to fill a Part-Time Brain Injury Rehabilitation Worker role in our Toronto Region.

• Schedule:Repeating Rotational
• Starting wage:$20.06 per hour . This compensation is inclusive of a $3.00 per hour wage enhancement from the Ontario government for hours spent directly supporting clients.The wage enhancement does not apply to training and paid leave.
• Hours:up to 30hrs per week as per collective agreement

Duties include the following:

• Implement individualized support services plans within the home and/or community for adults with brain injury (BI)
• Assist individuals with brain injury in instrumental activities of daily living, cognitive and problem-solving skills, community orientation and integration
• Provide services on a flexible basis during weekday business hours
• Reporting responsibilities including daily log note recording, incident reports, and verbal reports as required
• Participate in training as required
• Follow policies and procedures as required
• On-call requirements

Background / Qualifications:

• Completed post-Secondary in Human or Social Services
• Minimum of three years’ experience in Human Services field and/or working with people with ABI
• Current CPR, First Aid is an asset
• Proven consistency in work performance, including reliability and flexibility
• Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills
• Sound problem solving skills
• Proven ability to work independently / autonomously
• Knowledge of and experience working with local community housing and social services resources
• Ability to speak, read, and write English
