Job summary

SRS Distribution Inc. is seeking a Boom Truck Operator in Sidney, BC to move drywall and related materials to job sites. You will perform inspections, operate a crane-equipped truck, load/unload safely, and ensure timely deliveries with a strong emphasis on safety and customer service.

The role runs Monday–Friday, 6:30am–3pm, with a wage range of $30.50–$39.50 per hour. A valid Class 1 license with air brakes and a Level A crane ticket are required, along with a clean driving record and good

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 license with air brakes endorsement.
• Level A crane ticket with a minimum of 1 year of experience.
• Clean driver’s abstract.
• Practical written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as a team.
• Knowledge of basic mathematics.
• Basic hand tool skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip truck inspections and notify when maintenance is needed.
• Manually load, unload, and carry heavy drywall sheets.
• Transport loads in a professional manner, following the road rules and representing the company to the highest standards.
• Ensure cleanliness of truck interior and exterior.
• Verify load security and accuracy.
• Deliver materials to the satisfaction of customers and maintain an emphasis on safety, service, and efficiency.
• Safe operation of the boom/ mobile crane while loading and unloading.
• Communicate with customers and other trades on construction sites.
• Maintain contact with dispatch and work to resolve issues as they arise.
• Prepare trucks for reloading and assist warehouse staff as needed.
• Follow all regulations, company policies, and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
