Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related discipline required or preferred.
  • CPA considered desirable; prior bookkeeping experience preferred.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining records of financial transactions by posting and reconciling
  • Complete weekly payroll runs
  • Generate invoices; maintain subsidiary accounts by posting, verifying and allocating transactions
  • Reconciling entries to balance subsidiary accounts
  • Maintaining a balanced general ledger
  • Preparing a trial balance for the accountants
  • Preparing financial reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing accounting information
  • Ensuring compliance with federal, provincial and municipal legal requirements

Temporary worker for 9 months in Nova Scotia with experience in bookkeeper to join their team.

Overview
  • Ensure that all bills are paid on time, comply with CRA payment requirement, transactions are recorded correctly and complete weekly payroll and taxes.
  • Responsible for recording daily financial transactions, updating a general ledger and preparing trial balances. Maintain and file requisite documents for taxation compliance.
  • Monitor cash flow and produce financial reports.
