Job description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeper. (Staff Accountant) This role is ideal for a finance professional who excels in managing day-to-day accounting operations and month-end close processes, while also contributing to a positive employee experience through HR support.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Prepare and send invoices according to specified milestones; follow up promptly on outstanding payments.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate general ledger entries.
  • Maintain and update prepayment schedules and ensure proper allocation of expenses.
  • Prepare and submit sales tax and payroll tax payments in compliance with local and federal regulations.
  • Process Expense Reimbursements
  • Assist with month-end close activities, including :
  • Posting journal entries and accruals.
  • Reconciling balance sheet accounts.
  • Reviewing and adjusting trial balances.
  • Support bi-weekly processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Administer employee benefits programs (health insurance).
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and internal HR policies.

Qualifications :

  • Degree or diploma in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field, or Certification in bookkeeping
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in bookkeeping, with exposure to HR administrative tasks.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and month-end close procedures.
  • Experience with payroll processing, benefits administration, and tax compliance.
  • Familiarity with labor laws and financial regulations.
  • Certification in HR (e.g., CPB, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
