My client is a family-owned, BBB-accredited business serving the Greater Vancouver area for over 25 years. They specialize in residential and commercial roofing services, including roof installations, repairs, and maintenance. There is small in-house operations and management team, with approximately 22 field staff + subcontractors.

We're looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team and become an essential part of our success story. We value accuracy, integrity, and a collaborative spirit!

Role Description

Are you a skilled Bookkeeper passionate about the construction industry? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where accuracy is key? This part-time Bookkeeper role offers the perfect blend of challenging work and flexibility. You'll be instrumental in managing our financial records, ensuring smooth operations, and contributing to our continued growth.

This role is perfect for someone with advanced QuickBooks skills who is also comfortable assisting our team with QuickBooks orientation. While the primary focus is bookkeeping, we welcome candidates interested in expanding their responsibilities over time.

This is a part-time role (3 days/week) that will initially require on-site work in Aldergrove-Langley, BC.. Once oriented and organized, remote work options will be explored (two days in office; one day from home - TBD).

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management.
• Process payroll and ensure compliance with WorkSafe BC remittance and reporting requirements.
• Prepare and submit necessary financial reports in compliance with Canadian tax regulations.
• Serve as the on-site QuickBooks expert, providing support and orientation to staff as needed.
• Assist with month-end and year-end financial closing processes.
• Collaborate with management to ensure financial practices are compliant with company policies and industry standards.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of hands-on bookkeeping experience in the construction industry.
• Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks (mandatory).
• Strong understanding of Canadian tax regulations and financial reporting requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Superb time management and organizational abilities.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Post-secondary education in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field is preferred.
• Completion of a bookkeeping certificate or diploma program is an asset.
• A professional bookkeeping designation (e.g., Canadian Bookkeepers Association - CBA) is a plus.
• Evidence of continuing education in bookkeeping or related fields is highly valued.
